Usability, Accessibility, and Accommodations Guidelines (revised 7.01.2021). Information on the Smarter Balanced universal tools, designated supports, and accommodations (UDAs) available to students during testing.
CA Assessment Accessibility Resources Matrix. A link to the display of all UDAs, their appropriate use, and restrictions to specific tests. Embedded resources are made available through the computer-based tests, and Non-embedded resources are those tools used regularly in classrooms and made available by the classroom Test Administrator (TA) at time of testing.
These guides provide grade band specific information about the Smarter Balanced
Summative Assessments for English language arts/literacy and mathematics. The
guides are organized by grade span to highlight the changes in expectations as
students move through the grade levels. They explain how student skills and knowledge
are assessed and reported through collecting and scoring evidence. They also provide
examples of the range and types of items that appear on the assessments.

The Smarter Balanced Practice Tests, including scoring guides, are available
for grades 3 through 8 and grade 11 in English-language arts (ELA) and mathematics.
The Practice Tests provide a preview (not full range) of the Smarter Balanced
assessments.
