Absence form for substitutes/limited term employees. Starting July 1, 2015 employees, who work in California for 30 or more days within a year from the beginning of employment, are entitled to paid sick leave. Part-time and temporary employees, will earn one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked. An employee may use accrued paid sick days beginning on the 90th day of employment. 24 hours or 3 days can be used in a 12-month period. An employee must request paid sick days in writing. In order for the Pajaro Valley Unified School District to withhold the correct Federal and State income taxes from a paycheck, it is necessary to complete the forms below. Any employee who does not complete these forms will be set at the default of single status with zero allowances. The Payroll Department cannot recommend what status or number of allowances employees should claim for payroll purposes. Employees should contact a tax expert if they need assistance. Employees that get paid at the end of the month need to turn W-4 forms by the 15th of the month, if they wish to have it changed for their end of the month check. Employees that only get paid at the tenth of the month need to turn in the W-4 forms before the end of the month for it to be changed for their next paycheck.

All Pajaro Valley Unified School District employees will receive their paycheck through either a live check or direct deposit. Please note that if you decide to receive a live check and if it ever gets lost or stolen there will be a delay in getting a new check re-issued.

Unless you are a substitute teacher or are not at a specific school site or department, your check will not be mailed to your mailing address.

Certificated and Classified employees who work less than 219 days per year have the option of receiving 11 salary payments or 12 salary payments.
