Enrollment into One Way and Two Way (Immersion) Dual Language Programs with the exception of Alianza Charter:

Enrollment into all PVUSD (public, non-charter) Dual Language Programs for transfer students after Trimester 2 of first grade is dependent upon qualification through entry assessments of biliteracy or prior participation in a program of English-Spanish biliteracy.

Enrollment into PVUSD's (public, non-charter) Two Way Dual Language Programs is based upon a prioritization system, and within the prioritization system, a lottery placement.
First Priority - Student lives within the site's attendance boundary and has a sibling(s) currently enrolled in that site's Dual Language Program
Second Priority - Student lives within the site's attendance boundary but currently does not have a sibling enrolled in the Dual Language Program
Third Priority -  Student lives outside of PVUSD attendance boundaries, but currently has a sibling enrolled in that site's Dual Language Program
Fourth Priority - Student's parent/guardian is an employee of the Pajaro Valley Unified School District
Fifth Priority - Student lives within PVUSD attendance boundaries, and their school of residence is eligible for Comprehensive Support and Improvement plan
Sixth Priority - Student lives within PVUSD attendance boundaries, and does not qualify under the preceding categories
Seventh Priority - Student lives outside of PVUSD attendance boundaries, and does not have a sibling currently enrolled in that site's program nor a parent who is an employee of PVUSD

If a priority category contains a Waiting List for Two Way Dual Language of a quantity larger than remaining seats available then a lottery system of entrance commences. The program, even in lottery steps, must fill the program seats to meet the following enrollment criteria:
33% of classroom enrolled students scoring Fluent on the oral Spanish placement assessment
33% of classroom enrolled students scoring Fluent on the oral English placement assessment
34% of classroom enrolled students with dominant student/home language use being any language(s), in some cases not requiring a placement assessment
