Standardized Student Logins

In an attempt to help students and teachers easily access digital resources, we have developed a standardized login and password policy for students. All student accounts, for network access, software applications, or web resource will follow this pattern:

Username: Student Id#  (33643)

Password: Birth date- 6 digits no slashes or dashes (061499)

Office managers can help by printing out class lists with student ID#s and birthdates.  Many sites are making index cards with student names, usernames, and passwords that can be kept on file in the computer lab.

If you are attempting to import student accounts from SASI please pay close attention to the passwords that begin with a "0." If you open a tab or comma delimited text file with Excel the first zero in the passwords will disappear.  You must then format (custom) the password column to mmddyy to get the zero back before you save it as a tab delimited file.
